Hurricane Harvey Response
Are you wondering what you can do to respond to the needs of those impacted by Hurricane Harvey?
In the coming weeks, First St. Paul’s Council and Staff will be discussing options and opportunities to respond to Hurricane Harvey. We are not accepting donations of items at this time. We do encourage you to consider financially supporting organizations that are already on the ground, such as Lutheran World Relief, Experience Mission and the American Red Cross. You can also give via First St. Paul’s. Follow the links below to support the efforts of relief organizations.
Lutheran World Relief is a nonprofit organization that helps families in the world’s poorest communities build the resilience they need to thrive. They are accepting donations for both Hurricane Harvey and the massive flooding in India and Nepal
Experience Mission is our partner for mission trips for teens. They are working on getting teams into Houston this fall, as well as next spring and summer.
“Hurricane Harvey smashed into the coast of Texas in late August 2017, immediately creating one of the largest natural disasters in the U.S. since Hurricane Katrina. Help us provide relief to families in the Houston area whose homes have been flooded and left for ruin. 100% of donations will go directly into the community in the form of immediate relief and rebuilding efforts.”
The American Red Cross is working around the clock along the Gulf Coast to help the thousands of people whose lives have been devastated by Tropical Storm Harvey.
If you choose to give via First St. Paul’s, please indicate “Disaster Relief” on your gift.
