We host a traditional service on Saturday 6pm, Sunday morning at 8:30 and 11:00am in the sanctuary. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday on each month at the traditional service. The traditional service is taken from the new red book entitled "Evangelical Lutheran Worship" published in 2006 and implement during Lent 2007. The hymns are from the rich Lutheran tradition that goes back centuries. This music is led by organ music and choirs offer special music.
The contemporary worship service is hosted in the Celebration Center of our church building at 10:30am on Sunday mornings with Holy Communion celebrated on the third Sunday of each month during this service. This service is a new endeavor by our congregation to meet the wants of younger generations with a different style of music and liturgy. We are still evolving and trying new things during our service to worship better and to reach out to others. Our liturgy changes with the church season and we continue to learn new songs. This service has a band and vocalists to lead the singing, and the youth band joins in from time to time. The liturgy and the words to songs are both on an overhead screen and printed in a bulletin. This Week’s Lectionary Scriptures PC(USA) sponsors the week's entire lectionary text as well as all the daily readings. Typically, First St. Paul's follows the lectionary readings each week. Join in solidarity by clicking below.
When you click the link, the top of the page will display the daily lectionary readings for the coming Sunday including a psalm to be prayed during morning prayer and one to be prayed at evening prayer. A suggested order might be to read the psalm and the Old Testament reading during morning prayer. Then read the second reading at midday, and conclude your prayer day with the Gospel reading and the evening Psalm.
Beneath those will be listed the lectionary readings for Sunday/Saturday Worship.
